INCOME SURVEY FOR ELIGIBILITY DETERMINATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR BOROUGH WATER PROJECT: Tionesta Borough has authorized The EADS Group to complete an income survey for households located on Elm Street between Irwin Street and Highland Street to hopefully qualify this area for grant funding through Forest County’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program to replace this section of the Borough’s water distribution system.
The Borough is applying for grant money from the County to complete this water project and the application is due by September 30, 2016, so time is “of the essence”. Residents affected by the proposed project must fill out a survey in order to determine if the project is eligible for funding. NOT responding to the survey will reduce the probability of the Borough securing the funding for the project.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU COMPLETE THE SURVEY AS THE CDBG PROGRAM REQUIRES 100% PARTICIPATION.
Tionesta Borough and The EADS Group, Inc. consider the confidentiality of the survey results to be of the utmost importance. The survey results will be reviewed and collated by The EADS Group, Inc. The information will be used exclusively for the Borough to qualify for Forest County CDBG Program funding.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact either Tracey Frampton from The EADS Group, Inc. at 814/764-5050 or Colleen M. Call, Borough Administrator, Tionesta Borough at 814/755-3502.
The EADS Group plan to start the income survey Thursday evening (9/15/16), Friday and/or over the weekend.
Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

TIONESTA BOROUGH RESIDENTS – NOTICE OF SMOKE TESTING OF SEWERS: The Tionesta Municipal Authority has contracted Pipe-Eye Sewer Services, Inc. to conduct smoke testing of sanitary sewers in your area on Monday, September 14th through Wednesday, September 16th. This testing will assist in locating defects within the sanitary sewer system in the Borough. During testing you may see smoke escaping from vent stacks on buildings or from holes in the ground. Don’t be alarmed. This smoke is non-toxic, non-staining and does not create a fire hazard. The smoke will dissipate within minutes. Prior to testing, please pour water into any basement floor drains and any other unused drains or sinks. This will help to seal the drain trap so the smoke will not enter your building. If smoke should enter your building during the test, it may mean that there are plumbing defects, which could allow DANGEROUS SEWER GAS to enter your building. Open doors and windows to ventilate any smoke that enters the building.
Please notify our crews prior to testing if any of the following situations exist:
• Any pets that may be confined alone in the building.
• Any person who would be alone and is an invalid or sleeping.
• Elderly persons alone or who may become confused if they see smoke.
• Any person with respiratory problems who may be in the building.
If you have any of these situations or any other questions concerning the smoke tests, call either of the two Borough office numbers 814/755-3441 or 814/755-3502 or Pipe-Eye Sewer Services (Kerry Roslinski) @ 814/366-3950.
PennDOT is asking for our help. Please participate in the following survey:
PennDOT’s northwest district has launched its 2015 online customer survey and we are asking for your assistance as we try to gather input from as many licensed drivers as possible in Crawford, Erie, Forest, Mercer, Venango and Warren counties.
This survey is one of the most valuable tools available to PennDOT District 1 as we work to improve the service we provide. Your opinions are very important to us.
We are asking you to please take a few minutes to complete the survey and give us your insight into our operations and performance.
We would also ask you to please spread the word by forwarding this email message with the survey link to your friends, colleagues, co-workers, and acquaintances. We would welcome any actions that you or your organization could take to help us by posting the survey link on Facebook, Twitter or other social media accounts.
Information that District 1 has received in past surveys has helped us identify a number of areas of our business where we have been able to make modifications or improvements to better serve the public.
The survey is located at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2015D1Survey and can also be accessed at www.penndot.gov by clicking on “Regional Offices,” then on the map of the northwestern District 1.
This survey will be available until January 4, 2016.
