TIONESTA BOROUGH PUBLIC WORKS POSITION: Tionesta Borough is seeking applications for a full time Public Works position. Special consideration will be given to applicant with a DEP certified wastewater operator license. Requirements include good interpersonal/people skills, education and/or experience that would aid in water and sewer plant maintenance, basic construction and mechanical skills, general road and storm water maintenance. Must possess and maintain a valid PA Motor Vehicle License and must be insurable. Health insurance benefits package and pension plan offered. Successful applicant will be required to pass a physical and drug screening. Tionesta Borough Council is delighted to highlight the exceptional creativity and talent flourishing within our community. With immense excitement, we proudly reveal the winner of the Borough Logo initiative: ninth-grade student Maddie Schmitt of West Forest Jr./Sr. High School!

The Mayor and Council members reviewed four entries from the ninth-grade art class that showcased the artistic ingenuity of our local youth, and Maddie Schmitt created a simple, but classic design that represents our community.

This achievement not only reflects the remarkable creativity of Maddie Schmitt, but also underscores the collaborative partnership between the Forest Area School District and local government in nurturing and fostering creativity among our youth. West Forest Art Teacher, Michelle Mazur was instrumental in working with us on this project and her outstanding teaching skills were evident in the efforts of her students – Thank You Mrs. Mazur!

As we celebrate this accomplishment, let’s reaffirm our commitment to supporting and empowering the next generation of artists, innovators, and leaders in our community. Together, we can continue to cultivate an environment where creativity flourishes and dreams take flight.

Congratulations Maddie for your remarkable creation! Your design will serve as a symbol of pride and unity for our Borough.

Electronic Recycling & Houshold Hazardous Waste Program

Borough residents can schedule a pickup to dispose of electronics and household hazardous waste all year round. This service is available through Waste Management. A link for the flyer containing details of what can be picked up and how to schedule a pickup are below:

Tionesta Borough Curbside Recycling Program

Tionesta Borough is implementing a Curbside Recycling Pickup Program that is slated to begin in September, 2018. There will be no charge for this service at this time. Those interested in participating in the pickup program must contact the office (814-755-3502) so we can order enough Recycling Carts and get them delivered. September through December 2018 is a “Test Period”. If there is enough interest we will continue the program into 2019.
